Here is the place to show off
some of our greatest works at
customizing minis to work with
Blood Bowl.
Blackchasm Bellygnawer's home pitch,
the Rat Cage. The TRUE pitch of champions!
Yo ho ho and a bottle of Blood... Bowl at Sea!
The
nearly complete XBBL field of champions. Created by following instructions found in
BB magazine #4.
Our league's favorite referee. "Def
Blinders" was once a Ripper Bolgrot model with some dangerous spikes filed off.
Yellow penalty flag, he's yet to use, placed in upraised hand. Place marker made of
cardboard, cloth, and clotheshanger. Striped shirt made of cloth soaked in white
glue to form. Helmet turned into hat by adding a brim with puddy. Most
importantly, glasses made of surgery wire with superglue lenes. The glasses really
don't help seeing as how his eyes are glassed over with light blue cataracts.
The Bellygnawers cheering squad, "the Saurus
Heads", raised the roof when they brought home the NWC championship. Originally
a Mordheim (at least the one on the right) mini, simply added plastic Lizardmen heads to
the ends of "pom-poms". I think the one on the left was part of a command
unit.
Another Mordheim mini that was originally holding
a sword. Playbook made of cardboard and cut to fit into hand.
Yet another Mordheimer. this Skaven was
originally holding a flail sideways with the ball and chain part dragging the
ground. Didn't use that part so I just had this Skaven holding a rod I thought
looked like he was dragging something. That's where the net idea came from.
Made from rafia ribbon used to wrap gift baskets and cut flower arrangments. Folded
over a few times for thickness, cut into shape and fixed with white glue. Barely
needed much painting, only highlights and a wash to make it look dirty. Although a crudely
equiped apothecary, this rat saved many a valuable life.
I now use the official long legged mini, this
custom long legs is still pretty decent. Kind of silly looking, and has a permanant
lean. Hey, Micheal Jackson did the lean and he's cool, right? uhh, nevermind.
Puddy used to extend shins on a Gutter runner.
The Brute Trupe's #1 fan. This stupid goblin
can be found after games collecting teeth of his favorite stars. Originally a standard
bearer with a weapon in left hand. Hilt of sword was too hard to get rid of so I
covered it up with a large foam finger made of puddy. Flag made of cloth, stiffened
with white glue.
Orcs are tough. That's why their stretchers
are made of sandpaper. These two are original plastic minis that came with the Blood
Bowl box. Toothpicks, sandpaper, and glue.
Make trophies out of the cheesey plastic humans
that come with the game. Varnish will give them a shine along with an extra clear
coat sealant. The plaque is made of a snip of cardboard, the base has a nice marble
look to it.
The entire team should be in this gallery, but
for now here are two fine examples. The entire team has the same cool shoulderpads
from some 40k minis. Legs on the skeleton from the plastic humans that came with the
BB game. (see the MVP trophies above to compare)
I need something more to say about this Zombie.
Check him out, he moves so slow he couldn't hurt a Goblin!
Here is a player only the coach could love. All other teams HATE the Cursed
One. That one skull at his feet represent about 10 casualties. The Cursed One is
very upset he did not win the MVP trophy. Made from a Confrentation mini, the evil
claw is actually two different Games Workshop claws that made a very nice looking killing
device.
This guy was a Beastman musician from the command pack. He was holding a horn
to his mouth that was clipped and the spot was made to look like a tooth. In the
other hand he was holding a weapon that was also clipped. He has a decent action
pose so I didn't adjust the limbs at all. See, the Red Redemption relies on band
nerds for their recruits, sad.
I
didn't want two Chaos Warrior to look the same so I added a few trinkets to this one.
I took the hood ornament off an Orc turk and simply clipped the base and added it
to his head. I then cut two Orc pony tails and added them to the shoulders.
The two extra spikes on the shoulder pad are also taken from the plastic Orc spur.
The Red Beast was a Beatman champion. He was originally holding a axe across his
stomach that caused some problems. I cut the axe and then had to mold a belt with
green stuff and added a belt buckle. I adjust his arms so they were not parallel
from the holding the axe and I made a knuckle duster taken from an Orc knife. I also
had to remove a severed head that was dangling from his leg. That took a little
rework with the green stuff.
My greatest/cheapest inovation in modification.
Using cat nail trimmings. They make perfect spikes or horns. A great
way to make two of the same molds look different real easily.
Flofsie Bunnyman. Ears made of
puddy. Teeth slighly enlarged. Arch rival of Teefus Jones. Hey Teefus,
you're not the only one with a theme song. This song should explain the origin of
Flofsie completely.

Rut" (575KB)
